History section lacks neutrality

edit

The History section of the article is terribly lacking a neutral point-of-view. Unfortunately, I don't know enough about the subject to properly clean it up (without removing it completely). Bumm13 (talk) 12:34, 20 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

I have removed the most laudatory references, but the article is still badly unbalanced. How is someone so deeply linked to the power schemes of his time portraited as an independent champion of freedom? Unfortunately, while removing excessive praise is not that difficult, Chateaubriand deserves a much more in depth article, dealing with the intimacy between political, economic, and media, power, which I don't feel able to write.

Also, the Diários Associados has long passed its zenith. From the sixties, the organisation declined, ultimately into sheer decadency, being largely surpassed by other media empires - notably Globo. This needs to be reflected in the article. Ninguém (talk) 18:56, 15 June 2009 (UTC)Reply

I've supressed the uncritical eulogizing and added the main common knowledge general facts about Chatô's carreer and ethos with the help of Kucinski's review of Fernando de Moraes' biography, of which, however, I don't have a copy and which I think should be used for any further expansionCerme (talk) 15:05, 8 July 2009 (UTC)Reply
