Quality
editThis page had been created with fairly poor quality. The opening paragraph in particular does not read well. To be honest I had doubts over the necessity for the page at all, but mainly just because certain series will contain Full and Associate Members, how will those be counted? It says the number of matches that will be played, but is this just counting matches played in series that are not included on the main season page even though there will be matches between associate teams played at for example the T20 qualifier? I would also suggest removing the Template:Associate cricket in 2019–20 template and simply using Template:International cricket in 2019–20 which includes all of the same information to avoid placing both of these templates on certain series articles. - The reason the page was created was to separate out Associate Cricket. Its just the first ever page created and can be improved upon further. Ankurc.17 (talk) 03:59, 16 September 2019 (UTC)
- I agree - lets not be too harsh, as this is just a starting point. Now we've got the bare bones started, this can be refined and expaned. And there's going to be tons of Associate T20I cricket from now on too! Lugnuts Fire Walk with Me 17:42, 16 September 2019 (UTC)
- Hi - Apologies if I came across as being harsh... not intended at all. Once we get this tidied up and we confirm the scope (I think we have agreed on 'anything not covered by International cricket in 2019–20), we will have something good here. I do think perhaps a slight rebrand in that case to potentially in the title to indicate it is not ALL associate cricket but the more 'minor' stuff. Also the line that says how many matches are to be played... if it is to be included (and I would take it out), it needs to be made clear what it is referring to; I don't think that an be done hence I would just remove the numbers. - No worries - it justed needed a bit of a tidy up and inclusion criteria to get the ball rolling. Lugnuts Fire Walk with Me 08:46, 17 September 2019 (UTC)
Asia cup qualifier
edit@Ankurc.17: Hi again. Unless you have read otherwise, there is no confirmation of the format for the Asia cup qualifier Eastern and Western events. i.e. they possibly won't be a single group, possibly two groups in one or both of the events. Hence not sure why the table has been created at this stage? Bs1jac (talk) 22:28, 15 September 2019 (UTC)
- Changes made are good. I just created it since the tournament would be held this season. Ankurc.17 (talk) 03:59, 16 September 2019 (UTC)
I wonder whether these will now also double-up as T20 World Cup qualifiers given that a 2021 WC is scheduled. Bs1jac (talk) 14:24, 27 November 2019 (UTC)
New category
editHi all. Just a heads-up that I've created Category:Associate international cricket competitions in 2019–20 for all tours on this page. It's a sub-cat of the the main Category:International cricket competitions in 2019–20. Please use this on new associate tour articles going forward. Thanks. Botswana Tri-Nation Series
edit@Lugnuts: @Bs1jac: I have added info on the Botswana tri_nation Series on this page. The schedule as per CI is still a little iffy. Please look into the schedule. I haven't created a separate page for it yet. Ankurc.17 (talk) 03:46, 27 November 2019 (UTC)
- Thanks. Bs1jac has info on it not taking place. There's more info here. Lugnuts Fire Walk with Me 08:09, 27 November 2019 (UTC)
- @Ankurc.17: Hi - Yes we previously added and then removed this as Namibia stated on Twitter that they are not taking part. The article that I created on 25 November has been moved to my user space for now. Since you have added info back in here, I have corrected the schedule... there are 9 matches not 8, and Cricinfo have incorrectly numbered some of them (there are currently two matches labelled as 4th and none as 9th). I notice that the schedule has appeared on the ICC calendar today despite this, so I am not sure if it is happening or not. Bs1jac (talk) 14:23, 27 November 2019 (UTC)
- Changed to a bilateral. Bs1jac (talk) 09:21, 30 November 2019 (UTC)
South Asian Games - women
edit@Ankurc.17: Just FYI there is a problem in Cricinfo regarding WT20I match numbers due to confusion about whether Sri Lanka's matches should count. Currently they have removed the WT20I number from the game vs Bangladesh, but players stats have updated as if it was a WT20I. Until this is clarified (either their matches are WT20Is or not), the match numbers for all other women's matches may be wrong and/or change later, particularly for this event and the Botswana-Kenya series. Messy! Bs1jac (talk) 19:51, 3 December 2019 (UTC)
- Yeah I also noticed that... Strange!! Ankurc.17 (talk) 02:39, 4 December 2019 (UTC)
Tables
edit@Lugnuts: Hi (again). What is your opinion on including tables on these season pages? I had stopped including them except for qualifier events or continental championships, but I see one has been added for the upcoming Qatar women's quadrangular. I don't mind either way, but I thought I saw a discussion in an earlier season that adding tables for every event was maing these pages too cluttered, so just wondered what your take is? Bs1jac (talk) 13:45, 2 January 2020 (UTC)
- I think they're fine, as the do the job of a summary of what happened. Lugnuts Fire Walk with Me 13:50, 2 January 2020 (UTC)
Events calendar from Emerging Cricket
editPer this discussion, the calendar itself is not a WP:RS. Emerging Cricket articles are fine in general, but this one is not. Lugnuts Fire Walk with Me 10:47, 3 January 2020 (UTC)
- Thanks. I am a supporter of Emerging Cricket, and have written for them, but yes this piece is unsourced and more intended as a guide and a point of interest. Bs1jac (talk) 11:40, 3 January 2020 (UTC)
