Described?
editHas this animal ever been scientifically described? I have seen references to it here and there in reliable sources (I made a red link to it in Paraceratherium some time ago), but it would seem this is perhaps an informal name for an animal not yet described? - Scratch that, it was Pilgrim 1908, I'd like to find some of those old papers, might have public domain images... FunkMonk (talk) 11:39, 2 November 2019 (UTC)
- The full citation is "Pilgrim, G. E. 1908. The Tertiary and post-Tertiary freshwater deposits of Baluchistan and Sind with notices of new vertebrates. Records of the Geological Survey of India 37:139–166." The journal is online here, although conveniently missing the year 1908... Lythronaxargestes (talk | contribs) 18:43, 2 November 2019 (UTC)
- Heh, that's annoying, I couldn't find the follow up 1912 paper either mentioned in the new article... FunkMonk (talk) 22:27, 3 November 2019 (UTC)
- Found the 1908 paper on Google books[1], page 148 lists "Crocodylus bugtiensis n. sp." Not much to look at but still good to just have it available. Fanboyphilosopher (talk) 03:57, 4 November 2019 (UTC)
- I can see some more interesting text on page 149, where it is listed as Crocodilus [sic] bugtiensis, but of course it doesn't seem to be accessible... Lythronaxargestes (talk | contribs) 18:59, 4 November 2019 (UTC)
