Astra 1E
editI can find no evidence to prove that Astra 1E is failing. It currently has 12 out of 18 transponders active. Therefore I removed the sentence suggesting that it is. Karsini 20:33, 16 December 2006 (UTC)

Auto updates of orbital elements
editI have set up this article to have its orbital elements automatically updated by User:AstRoBot, an approved bot for this purpose. Other editors are welcome to observe the results of this change as you'll see the bot begin to update these six parms every couple of weeks, and flag anything that does not look right. Cheers. Channel list
editThe channel list, especially a few years before 2006 and afterwards, requires verification. If I understand sources correctly,
- After some years at least 4 other transponders beyond the original 16 were activated for regular channel broadcasting - probably taking over some capacity from the older sats
- Some transponders and channels listed here as active till 2012 (like 33 ZDF and 35 ARTE) seem to be moved from Astra 1C even before 2006. These transponders seem to be used e.g. for ZDF till 2012 - but not from the Astra 1C but other co-located satellite - I think Astra 2C see Lyngsat.
