Reaaranging the tables
editThe tables in this section for individual events says "Nominated Athletes" which imply that NOCs can change their athlete that recorded the entry time, which is false. Only NOCs with more than 3 qualified athletes should choose 3 athletes ONLY among those who matched the entry time. Other NOCs should only approve the quota for those who qualified and cannot change the athlete. Also, some of the information is false and assumed beforehand that some countries will achieve the quotas, while those records are not after the qualifying stage has started. So I'm going to change that we can discuss here.
Order of events (field events)
editIn all World Athletics competitions the usual order is High Jump (HJ), Pole Vault (PV), Long Jump (LJ) and finally Triple Jump (TJ). Then SP, DT, HT and JT. Why this article doesn’t follow this traditional order ?--Arorae (talk) 08:36, 9 May 2021 (UTC)
Universality quotas
editWe should wait until the quota is oficially confirmed by the WA to add them, cause things can change. At this time today, only PAK in women's 200 and LBN and SOL in women's marathon had been accepted and confirmed by WA (as it shows in their "Road to tokyo" section of their website. Unless reliable sources, we should wait for official confirmation.--Uruflick (talk) 13:35, 3 June 2021 (UTC)
- Universality is better. Of course things can change until the 1st of July - and even after because of replacements. But all the athletes indicated (and put by other Users than me) have been selected. It is funny that you have reverted Álvaro Martín (selected by WA) to replace him by the racewalker chosen by RFEA (without putting any source before I did). It is not the way to discuss here,--Arorae (talk) 13:44, 3 June 2021 (UTC)
- Editing conflict:
- Next Revert without any consensus here, will mean an ulterior infringement of the 3R rule (already done). That will be reported to Admin and they will block you.--Arorae (talk) 13:59, 3 June 2021 (UTC)
- Those athletes that I deleted do not appear at https://www.worldathletics.org/stats-zone/road-to/7132391, the page that listes the selected athletes. I'm just saying that if the main source for qualification doesn't list them yet, we should wait. I did not delete those already listed as Universality places ( PAK in women's 200 and LBN and SOL in women's marathon, as I stated before) .--Uruflick (talk) 13:58, 3 June 2021 (UTC)
- List of your 3 identical reverts:

- last warning.--Arorae (talk) 14:05, 3 June 2021 (UTC)
- They are non confirmed quotas and there wasn't any sources implying any officiality that's why I deleted them. Feel free to add them once IAAF says anything about it. Now they are only speculation. No need to be threatening with anything if we just stick to the confirmed information. --Uruflick (talk) 15:21, 3 June 2021 (UTC)
- Wikipedia:Edit warring has the 3RR rule that you have not respected at all.--Arorae (talk) 16:13, 3 June 2021 (UTC)
- « An editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page—whether involving the same or different material—within a 24-hour period. An edit or a series of consecutive edits that undoes other editors' actions—whether in whole or in part—counts as a revert. Violations of the rule often attract blocks of at least 24 hours. Fourth reverts just outside the 24-hour period may also be taken as evidence of edit-warring, especially if repeated or combined with other edit-warring behavior. »--Arorae (talk) 16:14, 3 June 2021 (UTC)
Again, please, stick to confirmed universiality quotas only.--Uruflick (talk) 14:08, 22 June 2021 (UTC)
- Once again Please: do not give orders or injonctions to fair users. IAAF/WA is the main and reliable source about qualification but they have not published all the universality places available (i.e. only 4 men on 100 m). You have not respected the rules on Wikipedia, that is a fact.--Arorae (talk) 14:31, 22 June 2021 (UTC)
Italics
editAbout two thirds of the qualified athletes from Sweden have been selected by the Swedish Olympic Committee. SOC will likely decline the quotas for most or all remaining athletes, so I've put those in italics to indicate they are not nominated and are unlikely to become nominated. If this should be marked some other way, please let me know. -- Lejman (talk) 02:16, 11 June 2021 (UTC)
- Italics exist to underline a word, not for indicate something never explained elsewhere. Most of the NOCs will do the same as SOC, not counting last minute injuries and other situations. Italics are not the way to indicate that some athletes will not be selected, because this a qualification page, not a selection page. Kenyan Olympic Committee will probably not enter their sprinter, but his name is on the Road to Tokyo official WA site.--Arorae (talk) 09:05, 11 June 2021 (UTC)
Ranking situation at 29 June is PROVISIONAL
editWA will publish the defintive list of Ranking only on 1st July (tomorrow). by the way, the list is still provisional until then, and no edit should be done in between.
all the last results (last week) are not integrated in the Road to Tokyo site.
Universality places
editOn the Road to Tokyo site, [1], there are most of the universality places, but not a few ones, like Jonah Harris (NAU). Harris or Matie Stanley (TUV) have been added on olympics.com unofficial list of entries. But they are not invitational places (only ROT are invited) but additional universality places (101 counted). For the moment, there is almost 10 places to be added to WA qualification list.--Arorae (talk) 08:05, 15 July 2021 (UTC)
Eritrea Men's marathon team
editI found a source saying the team consists of Oqbe Kibrom Ruesom, Yohanes Ghebregergis and Okubay Tsegay (here). But the page currently has Goitom Kifle instead of Okubay Tsegay, so can the person who added that show me where they got that information? Otherwise it should be changed.--Siwel619 (talk) 00:56, 17 July 2021 (UTC)
- is it a warning ? Olympics.com gave here the list of entered athletes as far as this IOC list seems much better than yours, I should consider that I was right editing like that. No Tsegay as Eritrean team, but one Tsegay in the Ethipian one.--Arorae (talk) 01:16, 17 July 2021 (UTC)
should be the motto of editors of this page.--Arorae (talk) 01:20, 17 July 2021 (UTC)Athlete entry information is subject to change. Amendment as a result official Tokyo 2020 entries process, including late athlete replacement, will be reflected as soon as possible.
- Haha no it wasn't a warning, I just wanted to know where the info was from because the source I found was one from Eritrea, but the official Olympic page seems like the the better one. Thanks for the link.--Siwel619 (talk) 01:27, 17 July 2021 (UTC)
- @Siwel619: by the way thank you very much for your edits here.--Arorae (talk) 01:29, 17 July 2021 (UTC)

Entry lists released
editOfficial entry lists where released by Worlds Athletics, and there are some changes. You can see them here: [2]. --Uruflick (talk) 11:19, 17 July 2021 (UTC)
- Thank you very dear @Uruflick:. I have discovered by myself the path and the changes, especially to Road to Tokyo where some universality places were put in the 100 m event and then, moved to other events. I thought that some of your edits were wrong or unsourced. My bad. Thanks again.--Arorae (talk) 11:41, 17 July 2021 (UTC)
Beware, by the way, because the Entry lists are not Qualification list and they include P alternate (4 USA in the 100 m, Bednarek will enter only if the 3 qualified will be wounded before the event).--Arorae (talk) 11:44, 17 July 2021 (UTC)
