Notability

edit

Are there any other sources or practitioners of this or "ventilation therapy" that can be cited? A label applied once in a slightly sensational, popular book does not establish notability. Rorybowman 14:59, 6 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

  • I do not have a strong argument for notability. I created the stub as part of some conflict mediating I was doing at Large Group Awareness Training, where the apparent negative connotations of this term were one of the many issues. Personally I think it's notable because of the book, one could probably find more sources for it. Delete it if this article somehow offends you or you want it to be gone. Deleting stubs because that show some notability like this one seems kind of pointless to me, though. User:Krator (t c) 11:35, 9 October 2007 (UTC)Reply
I don't think there is a strong case to be made for notability and was hoping that you might have some knowledge or expertise I didn't. After asking I poked around and it seems the term was almost entirely associated with a group called Synanon, and to a lesser extent some of the early "boot-camp" therapies for troubled youth. Similar phrases I found were "hot seat" and "emotional haircut" but outside of the brief notability for this one group, I found almost nothing. It might be logical to fold it into the Synanon article but I'll want some more WP:RS before doing so. Thanks for the reply! - Rorybowman 15:55, 9 October 2007 (UTC)Reply
