Worked hard for a "B" in math. The day's wage per rower, 11.1g of silver per day: Is this correct? 4.3g of silver per day is mentioned earlier. Why are the rates different? I' sure I'm overlooking one or more givens in the paragraph, and therefore missing your deduction.

If I'm not the only one stumped here, perhaps filling in the logical steps would help others as well.

Heavy Water

edit

"26 kg, as well as a unit of value equal to this amount of pure silver.[1] A talent was originally intended to be the mass of water required to fill an amphora[2] (39 liters, or approximately 39 kilograms of water)" So which is it; 26kg/26L or 39kg/39L? Secondly, move shekel out, this is an ancient Greek page. Greece, if only in myriad city-states, is far older than Judaism, Christianity, or Islam; so the OT/NT innuendos are unwarranted; move it to the relevant religious pages. Third, if this were a page on Roman money, it would have been well thought out. Since it's about Greece, the back-handedness is once again spread heavily. This is history not politics; write like you passed High School/Secondary School. 71.165.247.91 (talk) 04:09, 8 October 2014 (UTC)Reply
