Pre-war rivalry with Mercedes-Benz
Auto Union and Mercedes-Benz staged a great racing rivalry in the immediate pre-war years, producing some of the most powerful Grand Prix cars (it wasn't until the 1980's turbo era that the outputs of the cars) and, apparently, some of the most exciting racing of the time. I've got a couple of books on the topic, but written from the perspective of the Mercedes-Benz team. Does anyone have anything written specifically from the Auto Union/Audi perspective? Robert Merkel
Volkswagen takeover
It would be great if someone in the know could add some info about the Volkswagen takeover. The two seem to be pretty inseperable today -- stewacide 20:58 2 Jun 2003 (UTC)

The object of jokes
The removed text: Audis are a source of jokes such as
- Q: Why do Audis run so bad?
- A: They have the piston rings in the grille.
I wonder why it was removed. We have similar sections for other brands, for instance AvtoVAZ. // Liftarn

TDI and LeMans
Towards the end of the article, in the "Technology" section, there should be some reference to Audi's development of TDI, which won the 2006 24 Hours of LeMans.
First modern Audi
The 100 was NOT the first modern Audi, I´m sorry to report. Instead, it was preceded by the Audi 60/72/80/Super 90 series by about two years. I´ll try and find a reliable source for the facts and will alter this article correspondingly. --Rybiczka 23:47, 30 October 2006 (UTC)
Squash that Beetle
Can anybody comment on hostility to the New Beetle within Volkswagen management, because it was too retro? I've heard Hochmut Vargas (?) had to hide US$300000 in Audi's budget for the development. Confirm & add, somebody? Trekphiler 09:41, 10 November 2006 (UTC)
Sd-Kfz 222 hp?
This article says the Sd-Kfz 222 had 81 hp, but the Sd-Kfz 222 article says it had 90 hp. Which is right? --Jeff Worthington 19:40, 12 March 2007 (UTC)
More on the Logo and Brand Name
Not sure of the origin of this information, but it's interesting, and I would presume, accurate. I have requested more info on the origin from the actual website

Audi R8R and R8C
I just revised the sports car racing part to include the R8R and R8C. The past revision was misleading in that in inferred that the R8 was Audi's first sports racer. I was considering revising the statement that Joest won all the ALMS rounds to include the fact that they used the R8R at Charlotte when the new R8's were being shipped to Le Mans, but figured the current sentence was good enough and that that detail was better for the R8R-specific page. Walter's Audi S1
This is not Audi A2 in the picture! It is Audi S1 or Ur-quattro. Audi A2 looks like this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Audi_A2 217.198.210.102 (talk) 08:03, 22 October 2008 (UTC)
- no it's a quattro a2, not a a2 of course (and that's what the image caption says).--BSI (talk) 10:44, 22 October 2008 (UTC)
A5?
No mention in the entire article of the Audi A5? Seems like this article needs a real overhaul to make sure it has all of the various models. ju66l3r (talk) 19:02, 17 February 2009 (UTC)
This page is dated in several respects. Example, they don't have anything about Audi's new R15 ALMS vehicle. I'll try to add things as i get time, while I try to clean up the existing text. Madmonky (talk) 15:26, 31 March 2009 (UTC)
year of found
The source says The new company name, Audiwerke GmbH, became effective on April 25, 1910. why article has 1909? --Typ932 T·C 07:58, 10 May 2009 (UTC)
left hand drive -- pov
Under Birth of the company and its name, the last paragraph signs off with "Left-hand (sic) drive spread and established dominance during the 1920s because it provided a better view of oncoming traffic, making overtaking maneuvers safer.", sourced from the Audi Website[1]. We need to remove the POV slant from "better" and "safer"; i.e. better than what? safer than what? Is the reference right hand drive; or a central driving position; or both lumped together? Further, under what circumstances is is "better" and "safer"? In traffic passing on the right; or in traffic passing on the left; or in traffic passing on either side; or a combination of two or three of these? The source in question is a Flash movie, and for some reason is not available to me. The sentence in question either needs rewording to remove the claim, or quote the Audi article in full. Reference could be made to appropriate articles about driving on each side of the road. I would suggest rewording as follows: "Left hand drive spread and established dominance during the 1920s." and leave it at that.--Rfsmit (talk) 18:54, 15 May 2009 (UTC)
Citations for "Motorsports/Touring Cars" section
Citation needed for: "The Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA), having difficulty regulating the quattro four wheel drive system, and the impact it had on the competitors, would eventually ban all four wheel drive cars from competing in 1998"
Also, "Audi dominated all they entered" removed due to WP:Peacock
Infobox Logo
The logo in the infobox has been switched back and forth several times in the last weeks. I am not an expert on Audi but why not keep the new logo and typeface used since 2009 for the infobox and show the old logo and typeface used until 2009 in the article further down? Is there any dispute that the logo and typeface has changed? If not, I would suggest to keep the current version of the logo in the infobox to have the article up to date. By the way, at the last change, the logo was oversized in the infobox, I reduced it to 250px if that is OK. should there be a controversy about the use of the logo or typeface this would be a good place to discuss the matter and find a solution that is great for everybody. Factory Audi larger than the state of Monaco
Croatian writer Giancarlo Kravar: Audi factory in Ingolstadt, Bavaria, Germany, has an area of 2,672,625 square meters and is bigger than most populous country in the world, Monaco. Employs 33.000 workers, annually produces more than 1 million Audi cars and about 1,000 copies of extraluxuries Lamborghini.78.2.103.195 (talk) 09:43, 25 May 2012 (UTC)
