Adding content
editThis article can be significantly expanded.
- History - as a starting point there is a brief history of Audio-Technica on their website [1]
- Add sections, possibly use Shure as template
Add at beginning This article is about Audio-Technica, the Japanese audio equipment manufacturer, for Ars Technica a technology website, see Ars Technica.Done
- Properly attribute statement "One of their most famous products was a battery-operated, portable record player called Mister Disc that was sold in the U.S. in the early 1980s"
Add image of an Audio-Technica microphone for illustrative purposesDone
Well, I figured there was no chance for confusion between this and Ars Technica, seeing as the first word isn't alike at all. No one confuses, say, Acer Computer with Apple Computer, right? But other people seem to not agree with me. Thoughts? --M1ss1ontomars2k4 (talk) 23:40, 2 March 2008 (UTC)
- Disclosure: I reverted your change and noted "titles share enough similarity to cause confusion especially w/ use of 'Technica'" in the edit summary. In this case, 'Technica' is a less ubiquitous term than your example of computer. Anecdotally, in the past I have confused the names Ars Technica with Audio Technica, which lead me note that at the beginning of the article. Encyclopedia users may only have a vague idea of what they are looking for, I believe it would better help readers to note if a non-common, fairly unique term such as 'Technica' may refer to Ars Technica or Audio Technica. - Yeah, no, I really don't think that hatnote is necessary. The "Audio" part is distinguishing enough. I am removing it. —Darkwind (talk) 23:50, 1 May 2013 (UTC)
