Battle ?
editAs long as I know, this was not a battle. For example, "Destruction of (the town of) Şırnak" (Amnesty), "Raid on (the town of) Şırnak" are more realistic.

- I found the term "Battle of Sirnak" in google books (only one result). But even this auther wrote, "The Battle of Sirnak had not been a battle but a drawn-out punitive spasm...".

Changes
editSomeone is editing articles related to PKK and changing them as attacks were not directly related to them. Like in this article, they've added the attackers as YDG-H, for an attack done in 1992. YDG-H was founded in 2013. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 84.201.37.52 (talk) 06:41, 29 December 2016 (UTC)

Issues with this article
edit- The article is pretty much written from the Turkish military point of view. Views by Amnesty International which speaks about the heavy handed approach of the Turkish side, suppression of civilians and journalists for example, has been put under sectioned "controversy", but really isn't fitting. A single source calling it a battle seems to be just repeating turkish militaries original statements.
- Civilians who were able to be interviewed state that the destruction/damage of buildings while they were inside was due to the bombardment by tanks and cannons, something the PKK does not have.
- The cause of 20,000 of Şırnak's 25,000 civilians fleeing the town is more likely due to the excessive and disproportionate acts by the turkish side.
- One source that uses "battle of sirnak" actually argues it was not really a battle, yet the title seems to be using it and referencing to it. I've already reverted what looks like vandalism. https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Battle_of_%C5%9E%C4%B1rnak&diff=next&oldid=870032044
