Page migration

edit

I created this joint page from a page that existed for Auriea Harvey. She and Samyn collaborate equally, and they emphasize their teamness in interviews, so it seemed most appropriate to have a shared page for them. The original Harvey page created by user Raziel218 now redirects here, and I have copied over all of Raziel218's original material. "Michaël Samyn" and "Michael Samyn" now also redirect here (there was no page for him before this).Zelda1700 (talk) 03:11, 26 October 2013 (UTC)Reply

Michael Samyn

edit

Someone has tried to take Michael Samyn partially out of this page. I believe that this should not be done without a clear and convincing rationale. All of the material I found on Harvey and Samyn (apart from their earliest student days) emphasized that they work as a team, like Christo and Jeanne-Claude. They themselves consistently put forward this view. In the absence of a good argument for ignoring that, I have reverted the page to its last state. Since your comment Auriea has gained independent recognition for her work, including solo exhibitions like the now extended event at New York's Museum of Moving Image and the inclusion of lone produced works from sketchbooks and in the realm of new media. Additionally she has gained a greater presence on social media which I believe adds to her notoriety as an independent artist. Perhaps it would be more appropriate for Auriea to have her own Wiki page and the page for their studio Tale of Tales to include more about their collaborations and Michael's contributions. Should this page be merged with Tale of Tales?

edit

Tale of Tales page has a lot of this information; about 80% overlap. Should we merge them?

Since they've had 2 companies now, my inclination would be to collect it all under their names, or more clearly bifurcate the information for less overlap. For example, the Entropy8Zuper! stuff should really not be on the Tale of Tales page at all. Is there a general Wikipedia policy when this kind of overlap exists between companies and founders?Zelda1700 (talk) — Preceding undated comment added 00:39, 24 June 2014 (UTC)Reply
