editDuring the World Cup the team was always officially called the "Indigenous Dreamtime" team or some variant of this. It seemed to me that calling it the Australian Aboriginal rugby league team was deemed to be insensitive or, at worse, offensive. Should this article be moved according to the current practice? - I don't know how Australian Aboriginal can be seen as offensive, but my personal preference is for Indigenous Australian. Were there any official teams before the Dreamtime team as the "article" seems to refer to? And I don't know where the 1/16th bit came from. As far as I am aware there is no physical measurement of aboriginality. florrie 04:43, 30 September 2009 (UTC)
- The intro looks like its just been taken from the Maori page, and even then I don't think thats a rugby league rule in NZ but a rugby union one. Mattlore (talk) 10:08, 30 September 2009 (UTC)
- This category, although it doesn't specifically mentions teams, uses the format of Indigenous Australian ....

- I see what you mean by the c&p, - not too much thought went into this article, obviously! I know there have been Aboriginal cricket teams, but I haven't been able to find anything about teams for rugby league, other than the recent Dreamtime team. florrie 10:44, 30 September 2009 (UTC)
- What will the Aboriginal side that plays the All-Stars next year be called? Might as well name it after that, it seems to be the only time they'll take the field in the near future. Oh, and also I think an Australian Aboriginal side has participated in Pacific Cups in the past, if anyone is looking for info. Mattlore (talk) 03:15, 9 October 2009 (UTC)

I moved the page to Indigenous All Stars (Rugby League) because that seems to be what they are called now and it should be an annual event, and the Victards had their team first.Ticklemygrits (talk) 05:44, 14 February 2010 (UTC)
- You should have made the proposal here first. LunarLander // talk // 12:42, 14 February 2010 (UTC)
- Seems a bit of a no brainer though, especially given the logoTicklemygrits (talk) 21:20, 15 February 2010 (UTC)
- With there being past names and naming formats to consider, I would have preferred a consensus to be arrived at as there was was an old discussion but the match had only just taken place. Nothing major though, if it needs to change then can be sorted in the future. LunarLander // talk // 22:26, 15 February 2010 (UTC)

Indigenous All Stars (rugby league) → Australian Aboriginal rugby league team — The page should be moved to match the introduction of the article. I think a name change would allow the article to include a lot more history dating back to the first touring side in 1973 and be an overall better general article rather than on just one game. Otherwise potentially the article could be split into two, but I don't think the All Stars have enough information and history yet to warrent their own article, NRL All Stars is just a redirect for example. - But they are called the "Indigenous All Stars" not the "Australian Aboriginal" team. I oppose such a move. The Windler talk 22:08, 23 February 2011 (UTC)
- This article is about the team that has played since 1973, not just in the two All Stars Games. Mattlore (talk) 22:24, 23 February 2011 (UTC)
