Major league?

Should this league be described as "major league"?

"Major" is a classification of professional league, just as is "AAA," "AA," or "rookie." The term is used in the article with quotation marks, which could mean either that it is not officially "major," but is of a similar level, or the quotation marks could be interpreted to mean that the league has been officially designated as major, and "major league" is a quotation of the official designation. Either way, I don't think the term is appropriately applied to this league. I would have to be convinced that the ABL played on the same level as the American and National leagues.
