New section on Types of Automatic Generation Control

edit

The previous version for the automatic generation control page was a great conceptual introduction. However, it lacked elaboration on the types of automatic generation controls deployed in power systems. I have added acronyms (AGC, TGC, LFC) associated with automatic generation control. I have also added a new section elaborating on the types of automatic generation control, including turbine governor control, load-frequency control, economic dispatch, and optimal power flow. I also inserted an graph on steady state frequency-power relations for turbine generator control. I included hyperlinks to other wikipedia pages for more detail. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Imrami (talkcontribs) 00:35, 30 November 2013 (UTC)Reply

How to control the frquency of hydal power plant?? Ayaz10374 (talk) 14:12, 26 November 2016 (UTC)Reply

Economic dispatch?

edit

AGC is part of the primary control that operates on the scale of seconds without much human intervention. The dispatch is a part of the secondary control that happens on a much slower scale and involves actual people in addition to SCADA. Should this section be removed as not related to the subject of this article? Викидим (talk) 20:57, 28 October 2022 (UTC)Reply

Types

edit

In the referenced work by Glover et al., the turbine governor control and LFC are not described as two alternative versions ("types") of the control. Instead, LFC sets a target point for the governor control, identical to the way the frequency deviation guides the governor response of the TGC. Викидим (talk) 21:24, 28 October 2022 (UTC)Reply
