The quotes from original sources in the article are not so historically important, nor of such literary quality, that they really need to be broken out as quotes rather than paraphrased -- it breaks up the reading unnecessarily.

Undefined terms

There are some undefined terms such as "ABC" , "autowave structures" (the link for this does not explain it). Actually, the article literally crawls with undefined technical terms further down. It would be great if these were filled out. 89.217.3.182 (talk) 12:49, 3 April 2015 (UTC)

Phase portraits

The phase portraits look really interesting, but they are not really explained -- I can't see the relationship to the term f(u) in the reaction-diffusion equation.

Shouldn't f(u) be represented as a vector field on this planar diagram? What do all the orange, yellow, and green curves have to do with the dynamics of u'=f(u)? In each case there is an N-shaped curve, but what feature of f(u) does it represent?
