Election type
editIn the Nohlen & Stöver book, this election is classed as one for as a constitutional assembly. The Assembly also passed the November constitution.
Also 'extraordinary parliamentary elections' make no sense. It would simply be 'parliamentary elections' if this were considered a parliament.
If you disagree, you should start at WP:RM providing sources that support your claim. In the meantime, the introduction of the article should match the title. Cheers, Number 57 00:35, 30 January 2021 (UTC)
- A couple of other relevant sources:
- "... the minimal changes were incorporated in the November constitution enacted by a second constituent assembly" Constituent Assemblies
- "the Special Storting , although it was in fact a second constituent assembly" A History of Modern Norway, 1814-1972
- Plus on no.wiki, the article Stortinget i 1814 has a sourced statement that "It has therefore been called Norway's second Constituent Assembly". Number 57 01:02, 30 January 2021 (UTC)
- But the article is titled “Stortinget”, not “Constituent Assembly”. And the Constitution Day (Norway) is on May 17.--11piemontesibellitosti (talk) 01:16, 30 January 2021 (UTC)
- Constitution Day is irrelevant – it celebrates the first (May) constitution, but another one was approved in November (Venezuela has had over 20 constituent assemblies as its constitution has been rewritten so many times).
- The official name of the body is also a little irrelevant, as the title of these articles uses a descriptor rather than the name of the body being elected. Therefore the question is, was this Stortinget a parliament, or was it a constituent assembly. The sources above suggest that it was the latter, and so 'parliamentary' would not be an appropriate title.
- If you still think "parliamentary" is a better title, you are welcome to use the WP:RM process to seek further input. Number 57 01:21, 30 January 2021 (UTC)
