First / last names
editCarol was born in the Maryland but now resides in London. She also runs a political blog at http://sideshow.me.uk/.
This happens to Avedon a lot (I've seen it).
Her first name is Avedon.
Her last name is Carol.
I assume the sentence should read ... Avedon was born in...
unless for some reason the intent was to use her last name here, which would seem rather odd to me.
Looking at it again I think that in "born in the Maryland" there is an unintended "the" in the sentence. Perhaps it should read...
