Beginning in 1907, aviation was represented by the Aeronautical Division of the U.S. Army Signal Corps until being reorganized and renamed the Army Air Service in May 1918
Says nothing about an aviation section nor does the signal corps history.

Since someone has found a reason to edit this section seven years after its creation, it's worth noting that the summary cited here is so poor it might call into question the use of that source as not being credible or authoritative. As for the Signal Corps history, since the Signal Corps' administration of the Aviation Section was so checkered that aviation was deliberately taken away from it, lack of inclusion is not surprising.--Reedmalloy (talk) 05:42, 3 February 2014 (UTC)
Unit Gallery
editI've removed the gallery of unit emblems because it was far longer than the article itself and because most of the emblems were not accurate for the period (instead using the modern emblems). As a compromise I've included links to the commons unit images. A list of units is far more appropriate for this page than a image gallery (that's what Wikicommons is for).--Ndunruh (talk) 20:02, 24 June 2009 (UTC)
