Panama Papers
editWikinash85 has stated in an edit summary, "Remove link for Panama Papers. The source newspaper have incorrectly cited names in the ICIJ database as being part of the Panama Papers leak when they were not." However, no evidence has been provided to support this assertion. I have added it back and expanded it, with further sources. Please provide sources and discuss it here first before seeking to remove it again. Edwardx (talk) 08:39, 18 April 2016 (UTC)
- The alleged involvement in the Panama Papers has been incorrectly cited by the media as all Bangladeshis with offshore companies listed in the ICIJ database are resulting from a 2013 leak. The ICIJ database referred to by the newspapers can be seen here: https://offshoreleaks.icij.org/search?country=BG&q=&ppl=on&ent=on&adr=on. Journalist David Bergman clarifies this issue in his blogpost: http://bangladeshpolitico.blogspot.co.uk/2016/04/icij-2013-leak-database.html Also notable that no Bangladeshis are listed in the https://projects.icij.org/panama-papers/power-players/index.html. Request that this is reviewed and the article edited for clarity because the Bangladeshi-owned offshore companies shown in ICIJ database do not result from the Panama Papers but from David Bergman's 2013 investigation Wikinash85 (talk) 09:24, 18 April 2016 (UTC)Wikinash85
- "Power Players" is not relevant, as that only covers country leaders and their "relatives/associates", which would not include Aziz Khan or any of the other Bangladesh people mentioned. Although it is only a blog, Bergman in notable, so I have added his clarification to the article. The key fact about the BVI companies remains essentially the same.
