editA note to explain the sources. The Times obit for Sir William Stephenson states that Sir W had only one brother, General Sir Frederick Stephenson. The obit for B. C. Stephenson states that B.C.'s uncle was Gen. Sir Fred. Therefore B.C.'s father must have been Sir William (though Sir W isn't actually mentioned in B.C.'s obit). What with that and the fact that B.C.'s given names were the same as those of the father of Sir Fred and Sir William, the matter seems plain, but a slightly less tortuous reference would nonetheless be most welcome, if anyone can find one. Nor do I have any proof that the Benjamin Charles Stephenson gazetted into the Middlesex Militia in 1857 was our man, but an alternative explanation seems so improbable that I have risked it. - Tim riley (talk) 16:35, 11 June 2010 (UTC)

editWe need an exact birth date for Stephenson and the name of his mother, if anyone can find it. -- Ssilvers (talk) 17:05, 11 June 2010 (UTC)
