Promotional?
editCurrently the 'Company Profile' reads like a direct quote from the company's own presentation, full of uncritical marketing-speak & POV. It should be checked whether this part of the article can be sourced to an IP address affiliated with BMG.
"BMG focuses on the competent and transparent administration and management of musical copyrights ..."
"BMG supports songwriters"
"devotes a substantial percentage of its funds each year to signing and developing new talent"
"BMG contributes ... a proficient management strategy"
"Hartwig Masuch, BMG CEO, has demonstrated that his business strategy .. has proven to be a realistic approach."
"The company provides the opportunity for their creative development"
""There is lots more to come", said BMG Chrysalis UK senior vice-president Alexi Cory-Smith, "The music business has changed. Writers want a new alternative. BMG Chrysalis is proving it has the resources, the technology and the creative vision to provide that alternative"" [pointless direct quotes that contribute nothing to the article, possibly lifted 1:1 from a press-release?] 95.91.169.120 (talk) 10:33, 10 February 2013 (UTC)
Sorry I'm late. I had to rewrite some of the company profile to avoid copyright infringement. Mewtwowimmer (talk) 01:45, 23 August 2015 (UTC)
I noticed the Labels section lists Ariola and Hansa Records. I believe those are actually owned by Sony Music Entertainment.131.191.24.62 (talk) 19:23, 20 December 2015 (UTC)

BMG Rights Management → BMG – the current name is not the correct official company name Wikieditor234 (talk) 23:46, 3 February 2017 (UTC)
- Comment: Can you provide a source to say BMG is the common name? Wikipedia does not use official names if another name is more common. ONR (talk) 08:59, 4 February 2017 (UTC)
- Following the company's split a dab page would be better Bertelsmann Music Group and BMG Rights Management both are known as "BMG". Not clear where/when the decision was taken to point to only one of them and have the dab list at BMG (disambiguation). In ictu oculi (talk) 09:04, 4 February 2017 (UTC)
- page views don't strongly support the current situation. In ictu oculi (talk) 09:43, 4 February 2017 (UTC)
- Strong oppose: There are lots of topics on the dab page, and no indication that this one is overwhelmingly what people are looking for when they seek "BMG". Please see WP:PRIMARYTOPIC. The dab page should be at BMG. Aside from these two companies, there are the Baader-Meinhof Group (a very important topic), the Blue Man Group, an IATA airport code, two banks, a German football club, and various other meanings. —BarrelProof (talk) 17:46, 4 February 2017 (UTC)
- Note that, despite the fact that BMG has been redirecting to BMG Rights Management for the past 5 years (due to the action of an apparent-COI editor working from a single-purpose account per their edit history), a quick look at Special:WhatLinksHere/BMG reveals that most of the links to that name on Wikipedia are intended for Bertelsmann Music Group, not BMG Rights Management. (That situation may be changing, though, as I am working to fix the errors, and I hope others will as well.) I think that makes it very clear that it would not be appropriate to put BMG Rights Management at "BMG". —BarrelProof (talk) 16:30, 5 February 2017 (UTC)
- Please note that BMG Rights Management was created in late 2008, so all references to "BMG" as something that existed prior to that time were for something else. References to "BMG" as a music company during the period between 2004 and 2008 might refer to Bertelsmann Music Group or they might refer to Sony BMG. References to "BMG" as a music company before 2004 were for Bertelsmann Music Group. BMG was a well-known record label for decades before BMG Rights Management existed. When Sony purchased Sony BMG and Bertelsmann Music Group, I don't know whether they also purchased the rights to use the name "BMG" for the items in the pre-2008 BMG catalog (but I suspect they probably did), and I don't know whether Sony BMG sometimes used the name "BMG" during the period of 2004–2008 (but I suspect they probably did). —BarrelProof (talk) 22:40, 10 February 2017 (UTC)
- Oppose. If anything, Bertelsmann Music Group is the primary topic. AjaxSmack (talk) 19:14, 5 February 2017 (UTC)
- Oppose. "BMG Rights Management" is still the official name of the company, as evidenced by this upcoming Nickelback album. Mewtwowimmer (talk) 05:45, 10 February 2017 (UTC)
- Yes. The main page of the http://www.bmg.com official website also says "© 2015 BMG Rights Management GmbH." at the bottom. —BarrelProof (talk) 22:53, 10 February 2017 (UTC)

Ready Steady Go approx 1964
editHi, I have tried for many years to locate any recordings of Ready Steady Go, which had a line up of Donovan, Dusty Springfield, Beau Brummel, Long John Baldry and Manfred Mann, the episode I'm desperately searching for, included an art competition, Portrait of Manfred Mann, which I won, as an 18 year old art and fashion student. My parents watched the programme live, but of course there was no way of recording, so I never saw it. I met all the wonderful artists of that night, had my hand kissed by the charismatic Beau Brummel, and got invited out by Long John Baldry, but Elkan wouldn't let me out of his sight! My mum said they faded my pencil portrait into Manfreds face as he performed, and I was standing with the group at this time. I was interviewed on air, by Kathy, and though everything was black and white, I wore a sleeveless burnt orange dress, V neck, and a black rose on the V. Has anyone seen, or got any footage of this specific episode, before my days are up! I'd love for my son and grandkids to see their nan. I was 18, so the programme was approx August 1964 , onwards. Any help much appreciated 2A02:C7E:4C00:700:B58B:5A72:8FFF:AE81 (talk) 11:20, 2 April 2022 (UTC)
