Special editions of the BMW R1100S
editThere's lot's of stuff on the BoxerCup Replika, but little on the "Sport" except that in 1999 in the UK it cost an extra £500 and had "some of the modifications". Has anyone any further information on the Sport? Also, it's hard to believe that the modified Replika engine had no more power than the 98bhp standard bike, when the Replika has Laser pipes and a different engine chip. Any thoughts? - I can now answer my own question, having spoken to an owner. Basically, the "Sport" is not a separate model, but rather is a standard R1100S that has had the "Sport" pack at the time of purchase. This involved a wider rear tyre and a jacked up suspension, but did not include the Laser exhaust system of the Boxer Cup. I'll amend the page accordingly. R1200S
editIt looks like there's plenty of citations now to split R1200S into its own article. This has several advantages such as being its own entry in category lists, having its own infobox, etc. — Brianhe (talk) 16:19, 24 January 2015 (UTC)
- Good idea. Will you start it? Arrivisto (talk) 18:45, 24 January 2015 (UTC)
- I was going to let you have creation credit, but OK, the paragraphs that were here have been split off to BMW R1200S. Have at it! - Brianhe (talk) 20:30, 24 January 2015 (UTC)
BMW R1100S "Lightweight"
editA BMW rider told me that there was a R1100S model for the USA market called the "Lightweight". I can't find any reference to it anywhere. Any offers? Arrivisto (talk) 14:25, 11 April 2015 (UTC)
