Clutchless Gear Shifting

edit

Could someone more in-the-know than me please check and update the article as-regards when the S1000RR had the titular feature introduced. I test rode one in (possibly) around 2013, and I distinctly recall that it only had clutchless 'up' shifts. I seem to remember that the feature was improved probably around 2015, to include both up and down shifts. There is no mention in the article of the more rudimentary system though, which I don't think was a feature on the bike at launch. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.6.158.151 (talk) 09:57, 9 November 2018 (UTC)Reply

The Quickshifter option was availabel on the very first model in 2010. I was the first to race one in the US and this was the only bike with the factory option. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Surgicus (talkcontribs) 04:12, 25 April 2019 (UTC)Reply

Weight

edit

The 190kg refers to the wet weight of the motorcycle and most manufacturers claim less weights but they always use dry weights. Somewhere on the page should reference that it's the wet weight and not the dry weight.

This could be the first 1 bhp/kg production bike when fully fueled which this article does not show.Shredder46 (talk) 15:31, 20 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

Do you have a reference for this? I'd like to change the info, but it'd be good if we could find a references that specifically states this. Roguegeek (talk) 15:56, 20 May 2008 (UTC

190bhp and it weight 419 pounds and it is very extremely bike for adults rider only and it is ready to race and road going bike. s1000RR will be in ultimate superbike class and it is very quickly and faster 1000cc class! S1000RR has ran in Top speed is 200.969 mph in autobahn road. it will be in price around $20,000usd in quarter mile is about turned in 9's —Preceding unsigned comment added by 208.31.89.106 (talkcontribs) 01:06, 17 October 2008

The MSRP for the bike at launch was low $14,000s for the base model and high $16,000s for the model with ABS, Traction Control and a quick shifter. Surgicus —Preceding undated comment added 17:49, 8 June 2012 (UTC)Reply

The weights are a lot more fleshed out now in 2012. I removed the claimed weight from the Race bike differences section and put in the referenced neutral weight. That should be more a little more unbiased, although I saw Motorcycle USA quote a different weight, 455 lbs, for the wet measure. Not a perfect science, I suppose.
