Contested deletion

This page should not be speedy deleted as an unambiguous copyright infringement, because as it was a new page, I directly copied data from the owners website, to ensure that as I reworded it for Wikipedia, that no information was missed. I have since finished rewording that section of information from the TMR for the Wikipedia site. --Wilsteady (talk) 05:02, 4 January 2015 (UTC)Reply

I suggest you have a look at the copyvios report. Dolescum (talk) 05:59, 4 January 2015 (UTC)Reply
Note for patrolling admin: As far as I can see the duplication detector and the report show only isolated terms. No copyright infringements. Contact me on my talk page if otherwise. --Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk) 09:54, 4 January 2015 (UTC)Reply
The article as originally posted is pretty much a word for word copy of http://www.qld.gov.au/transport/projects/bat/about/overview/index.html. The issue now seems to have been fixed by editing, but you must not post copyrighted material, even if you intend to subsequently edit it. SpinningSpark 17:38, 4 January 2015 (UTC)Reply

According to the site from which the material was allegedly lifted, the following copyright information disclaimer is used. I am not sure if this effects the position of having the material on site. TomStar81 (Talk) 13:37, 4 January 2015 (UTC)Reply

Yes, that seems to be a compatible licence. However, it still requires an atribution in the references section. For US Government sources there are templates for doing this and a template for creating new templates. I don't know if there is an equivalent for the Australian government, but an attribution is still needed. Even if the licence did not require attribution, it is still plagiarism not to give it and definitely against Wikipedia guidelines. SpinningSpark 17:47, 4 January 2015 (UTC)Reply
