Feedback on article draft

edit

@Cjweik: Good start on your article in many respects. Here are some things you might want to keep in mind:

  • Provide in-line citations for claims. There are very few. This is particularly important for claims that are important to notability. If it really is the highest rank "seal paste" you should provide a citations.
  • Try to avoid WP:PUFFERY. Avoid phrases like "Babao Seal Paste is well-known among artists at home and abroad." (1) This should have citation if it's a fact. (2) It sounds like it's trying to puff up the article.
  • Watch tone. This reads a little too enthusiastically. Keep WP:ADVERT in mind. Make sure it sounds [[WP:N|neutral].
  • I think you need more citations to establish notability. You've got too many primary sources and things like PR Newswire which are things written by the company.
  • Avoid weasel words like "it is said." Who says it?

Hopefully that helps! —mako 20:52, 18 October 2016 (UTC)Reply

Following the English source China Daily, I moved the article to Babao seal paste. - Brianhe (talk) 04:00, 23 October 2016 (UTC)Reply

@Cjweik:Hey, it's Chris! I edited your article for grammar and flow--please check it over and make sure I didn't unintentionally alter meaning anywhere. :)

If I were bilingual, I might be able to offer input on your sources... As it stands, though, I can only recommend adding citations for the awards the paste won. I'd also advise reworking the quote you've got about the production centers--Wikipedia prefers editorial summaries over quotations in most cases.

Hope this helps, and feel free to follow up if you'd like to discuss any of this further! Cyrrona (talk) 06:00, 27 October 2016 (UTC)Reply

@Cjweik:Hey, it's Julie(Yu)! I just found there maybe something wrong with the first reference link. Every time I try to open it, the link take my back to the Babao seal paste page. For this sentence here "There are three main traditional centers for seal paste making in China: Xiling Engravers Society in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province; Rongbaozhai in Beijing; and Babao Workshop in Zhangzhou, Fujian Province.", I guess " Xiling Engravers Society" is same as Xiling Seal Art Society here on Wikipedia. It may be better to link this very famous society to their wiki pages for more detail informations. Otherwise, the article looks great to me. Wnini89 (talk) 03:32, 29 October 2016 (UTC)Reply

@Cjweik:Hey, it's Jiajia! I found this article interesting and it gave me a clear idea on Zhangzhou Babao Paste. This article is in a pretty good shape. I've only edited your article on some words. Please double check it. Hope it helps ;D! Misuki11 (talk) 06:54, 29 October 2016 (UTC)Reply
