Dye's father's name was Sydney. In Dye's CEF service file there is a document for Separation Allowance to be paid to his mother, Esther; according to the information she provided, her husband deserted her in January of 1898 and she never received support from him. This document is available in Dye's digitized service file (scan #27) through LAC's "Soldiers of the First World War" database. Kscheffler (talk) 02:51, 10 April 2016 (UTC)Reply
