Since when is 'baby' uncommon in British English...?

I'd like to know I won't remove it for now, but please comment.

I think the use of 'baby' as in spouse is uncommon in British English. I'm gonna do a little reserach about it, but I think it's the Americans who used it in that sense first. --Orthologist 14:21, 2 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

Well all i can say is that 'baby' is used ALL THE TIME in Britain - I hear regularly on TV, and in 'real life' - so I would suggest an alteration Yyem 10:41, 27 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

definition - confusion

I remember being taught that infants (to me 0-1, not 0) & toddlers (to me 2-4, not 1-2) are babies——kids are 5-12——teens are 13-19? I'm confused. Has it changed? I'm talking about nature, NOT law. [...] or both? --Sneaky Oviraptor18talk edits tribute 18:47, 26 August 2008 (UTC)Reply
