- Hello, I'm Azealia911 talk and I'll be reviewing this GA nomination.
- All suggestions have been put into effect except the comment regarding dashes. Carbrera (talk) 02:40, 2 March 2016 (UTC)
- I still have to expand the "chart performance" section, so I'll hold off on the messages until the expansion takes place. Thanks. Carbrera (talk) 03:58, 2 March 2016 (UTC)
- I have altered the article fit all of your suggestions. Done! :) Carbrera (talk) 00:22, 3 March 2016 (UTC)
Lead and infobox
edit- The cover artwork requires an alt. Done
- Add airplay to the 'Format' parameter. Done
- The disambiguation template can be removed if you like. While the band it points to seem to have a song of the title, it doesn't at all seem notable, and to an extent, neither do the band. I don't assume many people will be end up on this page when their intentions were to research the band. Done
- "is a song by" → "is a song recorded by" Done
- What is ref #1 backing up? The fact that this song exists? Per lead guidelines, anything cited in the article doesn't have to be cited in the lead. Done
- Unlink the second uses of Tedder and Blanco. Done
- The second sentence contains too many clauses, perhaps end the sentence with "reggae-pop track", and start a new sentence about the release formats/dates. Done
- I think saying that a song "talks" about a subject is incorrect terminology, or at least it sounds odd, perhaps "discusses" would be better suited. Done
- "Its music video was released the next day" is the next day the day after its digital release, or airplay release? You may want to switch this for the date. Done
- "Intended to be released on Stefani's third studio album, This Is What the Truth Feels Like, the entire project was scrapped in favor of new material." → "Intended to be featured on Stefani's third studio album, This Is What the Truth Feels Like, the single, along with others, was scrapped in favor of new material." Done
Background and release
edit- Uses of "-" violate MoS:DASH, however, I see nothing wrong with replacing them with regular commas. Done
- Again, with or without the use of dashes, this sentence has too many statements. Separate the sentences at "with her band No Doubt. In 2012,". Done
- "Later", specify, replace with "In September," Done
- You don't need to repeat the same reference twice if you're using it to back up two back-to-back sentences, you can remove the reference from "recording a few things."[5]". Done
- "In September 2014" → I now see why you opted to use "Later,", this can be replaced with "Later in the same month". Done
- "coverart" isn't a word. Done
Composition
edit- "which starts with Stefani saying in the beginning, "Uh huh, here we go,"" → "which begins with Stefani announcing, "Uh huh, here we go,"" Done
- "the song talks" → "the song discusses" Done
- "where she questions" → You've gone from the song talking about something to Stefani talking about something, "where Stefani questions". Done
- Spin should be in italics. Done
- "chorus she sings, ""Baby don't, baby don't, baby don't, baby don't lie…/I don't need to cry no longer."" You used a double quote mark, plus, I just listened to the song (because I bloody love it), and I'm certain she only repeats "Baby don't" three times, not four. Done
- You can add the final sentence to the rest of the section to make one large paragraph. Done
- "Gwen Stefani voice" → "Stefani's voice" Done
Critical reception
edit- Link and italicize Push and Shove. The full stop also comes after the quote mark. Done
- Idolator isn't italicized. Done
- Unlink Spin. Done
- "Ayers of Wall Street Journal" → "Ayers of The Wall Street Journal" Done
- Music Times isn't italicized. Done
Chart performance
edit- This section can be greatly expanded, you only make use of two charts, and only report their history on said charts for one week. Use more US charts, report their sales, their journey's on charts, how long they lasted, did they steadily climb? or peak and disappear? Use the UK charts, other European charts, other international charts. Done
- This I will gladly expand on tomorrow. :) Carbrera (talk) 05:26, 2 March 2016 (UTC)
Music video
edit- "she posted on her Instagram" Who did? Muller or Stefani? Done
- The Wizard of Oz should be in italics. Done
- You start a quote about the wizard of oz, but never finish it. Done
- "Jason Lipshut" → "Jason Lipshutz" Done
- "The end of the music video finds the singer back into the gray world, though in full color" I understand what you're trying to say here, but you need to add something or else it doesn't make sense. I assume you mean that although she's back in her dull normal world, she's become colorful after her experience in the video? However, you've never mentioned that she started off the video in gray-scale, so the point isn't made. Do you see what I mean? Done
- Again, Lipshutz not Lipshut. Done
- Unlink Spin. Done
- After reading the summary of reviews for the music video, I'd be more inclined to say that it received negative reviews. Every positive comment you present comes off the back of a harsh criticism. Done
Track listing
edit- Both of these formats need sourcing. Done
- There seems to have been a maxi-single released on to CD format, was it scrapped? If not, add it to this section and also add CD to the 'Format' parameter in the infobox, and add it to the release history. Done
- * The maxi single was scrapped; it was never released. Carbrera (talk) 00:05, 2 March 2016 (UTC)
Charts
edit- The song also reached a peak of (source):
- #9 - Hot Canadian Digital Songs Not done
- * This chart is not needed when the component Canada Hot 100 is included. Carbrera (talk) 00:44, 2 March 2016 (UTC)
- #17 - Canada All-Format Airplay
- * Why does this one need to be included? It's not included on Hello (Adele song) and it was #1 on this chart a few months ago... Carbrera (talk) 00:44, 2 March 2016 (UTC)
- #9 - US Pop Digital Songs Not done
- * This chart is not needed when the component Billboard Hot 100 is included. Carbrera (talk) 00:44, 2 March 2016 (UTC)
References
edit- You shouldn't put something as a publisher, when it's a work, just so that it doesn't appear in italics. I recently learned that if something that isn't usually presented with italics has to be in a reference (Idolator, BBC, iTunes) then you just have to leave it as "work=Idolator" and let it be italics. Done
- Various titles contain MoS:DASH violations. Done
- Either use publishers for all references, or none. EG, you use Billboard's publisher on a select few references, but not all. Done
- #1 – Link Billboard (unless removing it per comments above). Done
- #2 – Unlink Billboard (unless ref #1 is removed). Done
- #3 – Has an author who needs to be credited. Done
- #4 – Idolator is a work not a publisher. Done
- #7 – Unlink Idolator. Done
- #8 – Unlink Idolator. Done
- #9 – Dead link. Done
- #10 – Unlink Billboard. Done
- #11 – The link you use as the "url=" should be used as "archiveurl=", with an added "archivedate=", the unarchived version should be the "url=" Done
- #12 – Unlink Vulture. Done
- #14 – Unlink Idolator. Done
- #19 – Bare URL. Done
- #20 – Needs an accessdate. Done
- #22 – Avoid the SHOUTING in [LISTEN]. Done
- #23 – Change to Billboard and unlink Done
- #24 – Unlink Billboard Done
- #25 – Use MDY dates. Done
- #27 – Dead link Done
- #28 – Has an author and a date. Done
- #29 – Has an author and a date, unlink Billboard. Done
- #30 – Avoid SHOUTING. Done
- #33 – SHOUTING. Done
- #34 – Unlink Idolator. Done
- #57, 58, 59, 60, 62, 63, 64 – Bare URLs. Done
- On-hold so that problems can be addressed. Azealia911 talk 21:07, 1 March 2016 (UTC)
Writers?
editAccording to the Promo CD single, the only writer of the track was Stefani, while the producers were Blanco, Tedder, and Zancanella. Here's exactly what it says: "Written by Gwen Stefani. Produced by Benny Blanco for Matza Ball Productions, inc., Ryan Tedder and Noel Zancanella. ISRC: US-UM7-14-14974. UPC: 00602547060952." Thoughts?
