Just a note on one thing said in this stub: that Simon & Garfunkel as Tom & Jerry recorded this song.
I can't find specific sources on-line or in books that have anything the two artists have said on this, but the best evidence is that both Simon (Jerry Landis) and Garfunkel had walked out on the Tom & Jerry record contract well before "Baby Talk" was recorded. (As usual, the company shafted them, and they went on to try separate things for a while.) Then their record company (Big Records) recorded two other guys (said to be Chris Gantry and Len Chiriacka) as supposedly the same Tom & Jerry.
Even worse, another company reportedly released in the US a copy-cover of Jan & Dean's version by an unrelated British act using the Tom & Jerry name but different faces, making no claim to be the same guys. The Brits apparently had no knowledge of any US Tom & Jerry singers.
If someone can find a good written/online source on this, please list it, and then put it in the article. It's a very interesting controversy about the beginnings of a superstar act.
