The Mario speedrun used a technique in 8-2 that requires pressing left and right on the same frame in every jump. Calling this an "allegation" is like saying the Earth is allegedly not flat. Not only is it impossible to do this at all on the controller that was used, but even if it were possible on the controller no one could possibly do it for every single jump of an entire level. Saying that a streamer was "allegedly" cheating when he plagiarized a TAS is a complete joke. Mario literally starts moving in parts when his hand isn't even on the controller. The article should be edited in a way that fully acknowledges that the speedrun is illegitimate. A senior citizen who has never seen a video game or a toddler could understand how the character moving when his hand isn't even on the controller is proof of cheating if you take the time to explain to them the basics of how video games work. The plagiarism is so self-evident that wikipedia policy allows us to acknowledge it as cheating without citing a source under the plain truths clause. If this issue isn't fixed in this article within a year or so I'll rewrite that section myself. This is like if a baseball pitcher claimed to throw a pitch at 200 miles per hour and the wikipedia article stated it was "allegedly cheating." This article is a joke and the editor who wrote it should reflect on his impartiality. Uchiha Itachi 25 (talk) 19:15, 30 May 2021 (UTC)Reply
