New Article
editI have just finished writing this article. There are some areas that could be improved a bit, especially with more references. It was only after I finished writing most of the article that I realized I couldn't find my copy of Gary Trotter's The Law of Bail in Canada. If anyone happens to have a copy, I think some of his references would improve the article.
I also think there may be a need to write about the history of bail in Canada, but I didn't have any handy sources. Singularity42 (talk) 00:28, 18 August 2009 (UTC)
Merger proposal

- Not much comment after two weeks, and seems uncontroversial. Therefore, result was merge/redirect Surety (Canadian criminal law) into Bail (Canada). -- Singularity42 (talk) 16:22, 1 September 2009 (UTC)
I just finished writing Bail (Canada). As I started linking other articles to it, I came across Surety (Canadian criminal law). I think everything that is in the older article is now covered in the more expansive article. As a result, I think the articles should be merged (which will essentially only mean turning the older article into a redirect as I don't think there's any additional information). Thoughts, anyone? - I agree, the merger and redirect would make good sense.Mike Russell 22:00, 25 August 2009 (UTC)
