Baillon (surname) → Baillon – "Baillon" currently redirects to Henri Ernest Baillon, but used to redirect to Louis Antoine François Baillon. Since there are several people with this surname, Baillon should be the surname page. Korg (talk) 20:13, 22 October 2015 (UTC)

- Comment should "Bailon" also be covered in this article? -- 70.51.44.60 (talk) 06:28, 23 October 2015 (UTC)
- I don't see particularly strong evidence of a verifiable connection between the two names; probably better to keep them separate. At most, Dictionnaire des noms de famille en Wallonie et à Bruxelles says Baillon and Baillion are variants of each other and are either toponymic surnames relating to Warloy-Baillon, or come from a word baillon or bailon meaning "church singer". But there's no sources saying the Spanish surname Bailón is from that same word ([1] analyses it as formed with the augmentative suffix -on but doesn't say what the root word is; maybe es:bailío since it seems to have been [2] a surname used by nobility). 58.176.246.42 (talk) 05:07, 24 October 2015 (UTC)
- Support per nom, no one individual with this surname appears to have an overwhelming claim to WP:PRIMARYTOPIC. 58.176.246.42 (talk) 05:07, 24 October 2015 (UTC)
- "bâillon" with a circumflex is French for "gag". Anthony Appleyard (talk) 22:52, 26 October 2015 (UTC)
