Heavy bias
editThis article is not encyclopaedically written. It is heavily tainted by political bias against the state of Israel, and is not factual in its assertions. (unsigned)
Not sure if it's heavily NPOV, but the article could sure use a cleanup. I fixed some obvious spelling errors and flagged it for cleaning. Triplight 02:26, 30 August 2006 (UTC)
Removed "Salata"
editI removed (also referred to as Salata), as I could not find a single web page relevant to Balata refugee camp. I searched the terms salata refugee camp, and the only results relevant to Balata cited Wikipedia as the source. Additionally, the original page created for Salata [1] was clearly created as a copy of "Balata" replacing all instances of Balata with Salata (notice especially the second external link, in which even the name of the website was changed). (The Arabic name says Balata), and there's no reference to the official name in the article. Salata means salad in Arabic, and this looks like a practical joke that went unnoticed. Furthermore, as a Palestinian, I have never heard anyone referring to Balata by that name. Therefore, I have removed the reference to "Salata". --Fjmustak 00:30, 21 June 2007 (UTC)
- I concur. Salata, eh ;-) TewfikTalk 04:07, 21 June 2007 (UTC)
Title Suggestion
editI suggest to rename it from 'Balata' to 'Balata refugee camp' because there is a town called 'Balata Albalad' , but actually I don't know how to change the name.
Early Picture
editI would like to add a picure which is currently in Commons with title "Camp near Hebron.jpg". I am convinced that it is an early picture of Balata Camp as explained in the discussion with the image. I have asked for the file to be renamed and tried loading it onto this page but it makes a real mess of the layout. I will try again unless someone else gets there first. - Not done: it's not clear what changes you want to be made. Please mention the specific changes in a "change X to Y" format and provide a reliable source if appropriate. P.I. Ellsworth ed. put'r there 02:18, 17 March 2021 (UTC)
