Background
editBy swearing loyalty to his father's anda (lit. "blood brother"), the chieftain Toghrul of the central Kereit tribe, Temüjin however amassed a following and become a leader in his own right.
- I feel like a word or two is missing in the middle of this sentence. Does it mean that Toghrul took Temüjin and his mother in?
- I was trying to summarise rather a lot, perhaps too quickly. I've rephrased the sentences—does that help?
Although the Kereit were ostensibly the most powerful tribe on the steppe by 1201
- Would it be more precise to wikilink 'steppe' to the Eurasian Steppe article (or, an even more precise article if you know of any) instead of the steppe article?
- Linked to Eurasian steppe, as there annoyingly doesn't seem to be an article on the Mongol steppe proper (only the Mongolian–Manchurian grassland).
An unsuspecting Temüjin set off with a minimal guard to the feast, where the conspirators had planned to ambush and kill him; he was however warned by his father's old retainer Münglig. Led by Senggum, the Kereit then took to the field in force, and Temüjin only escaped here because two herdsmen named Badai and Kishlik overheard the plans and came to warn him.
- This part is unclear: Temüjin was warned by Münglig on his way to the banquet, but still went? And then he only escaped because he was warned again by two herdsmen?
- Hopefully clarified.
Uru'ud
could be linked by ill to the Russian page Уруты.
- Good catch!
The Baljuna Covenant
edit- Wikilinking
killed during the battle
is unnecessary. - Italicise
Yuán Shǐ
. - Introduce Jack Weatherford.
- All done.
Legacy
edit- Could you provide a description of where the
Jeje'er Heights
are located? while Senggum fled to Tibet and Kashgar
- Did he flee to Tibet first and then to Kashgar? Could you specify this in the article?
- Both done.
Overall
edit- I checked the majority of the references, and they all appear to be reliable, accurate and support the claims for which they are cited.
- Earwig shows no copyright violation.
- Only image in the article is free and relevant.
- This is definitely one of the best articles I've reviewed so far. Great work! It was enjoyable to read and learn about this topic. I would be happy to pass this once the minor issues mentioned above are addressed. — Golden call me maybe? 22:13, 17 June 2023 (UTC)
- Golden, all issues responded to (I think), so thanks for your comments! ~~ AirshipJungleman29 (talk) 23:16, 17 June 2023 (UTC)
- Yes, all issues have been appropriately addressed. The article has passed. Congratulations! — Golden call me maybe? 07:37, 18 June 2023 (UTC)
