Balladeering (album) → Balladeering – revert undiscussed move – Dohn joe (talk) 18:12, 10 November 2015 (UTC)
- This is a contested technical request (permalink). Anthony Appleyard (talk) 22:00, 10 November 2015 (UTC)
- @Dohn joe and In ictu oculi: "Balladeering" means what a balladeer does, for centuries before this album was recorded. Anthony Appleyard (talk) 22:00, 10 November 2015 (UTC)
- Oppose per WP:ASTONISH and WP:MOVE. This Danish jazz album's claim to pass WP:NMUSIC is based on being part of a trilogy of jazz albums by the Danish guitarist shortlisted, but didn't win, the Nordic Council Music Prize 2014. Okay so deserves a stub. But look at Google Books, Page 7 of about 2,850 results (0.17 seconds), wheras the album gets zero mentions, 0. That then leaves us with Balladeer being the WP:PRIMARYTOPIC of Balladeering and WP:CRITERIA and WP:NCM requiring (album) for an obscure Danish jazz album. Jack Andersen Genre Theory in Information Studies 2015 p.145 "McLane (2010) argues that balladeering is a general term that defines a loosely connected but strongly hierarchized network, encompassing everything from the singing, making, inventing, forging, collecting, transcribing, sifting, and editing to the printing of ballads” (McLane, 2010, p.247)"
- Oppose per IIO above. -- 70.51.44.60 (talk) 08:40, 11 November 2015 (UTC)
- Support. Wikipedia is WP:NOTADICTIONARY. There is no other topic on WP called "Balladeering". And Balladeer itself is just a short disambiguation page. Why make Balladeering a redirect to a dab page when we have an actual article with content at that title? Also - since this article was recently moved without discussion, a no consensus result here means a revert to the previous status quo. Dohn joe (talk) 15:59, 11 November 2015 (UTC)
- But we have an article, what's the issue? Ballad isn't that an article? Looks like an article to me. Why is Balladeering not part of Ballad or Balladeer? Wikipedia:Wikipedia is not a dictionary doesn't mean topics have to be titles. See hurricane as the classic example. Would we have Hurricane be an article about a trivial subject or a redirect? - Oppose. I've corrected the primary topic - it should have been Ballad, not Balladeer. Peter James (talk) 02:18, 15 November 2015 (UTC)
- Opposed Not primary topic, as per IIO above.Tiggerjay (talk) 00:06, 20 November 2015 (UTC)
