- I don't know. This reference quotes the opening date 1862 but under the heading Banbury and Cheltenham Direct Railway. That is a mistake. The station was opened as the terminus of a branch line from the OW&WR, at Chipping Norton Junction (now renamed Kingham). The Banbury and Cheltenham Direct Railway didn't arrive until 1881.
