After our previous discussion about this article, it is only appropriate for me to review and I did take my time since your GAN of B7 has been on hold for a few days. --K. Peake 12:42, 20 April 2021 (UTC)Reply

Infobox and lead

edit
  • The title has been incorrectly listed as "On the Rocks", so change to "Bang"
  Fixed
  • Only Setai Recording should be listed in the infobox, as that was the only studio for the role of recording
Not fixed I have always listed all of the recording studios involved in the production of the song. I appreciate that Setai was where the song was recorded, but Contra and Mastering Palace are also recording studios, and mastering and engineering are part of the song production process. This is the case for many other GAs too/
  • Speech marks should not be around names in the producer parameter, plus is Christopher credited as Tricky Stewart or merely Stewart on the album itself?
  Fixed
  • Retitle the header to Music video and change "Bang" music video to merely "Bang"
  Fixed
  • Add a comma after second studio album
  Fixed
  • "It was written by" → "The song was written by"
  Fixed
  • "production by Tricky Stewart, The-Dream and" → "production from Stewart, The-Dream, and" because no matter what he is credited as on the album, surnames should be used on second mentions in prose and regarding the talk page discussion, I believe you should be using American English in this article due to Scherzinger's nationality (I am English myself btw)
  Fixed
  • ""Bang" was released as the fourth single from Big Fat Lie" → "It was released as the fourth single from the album" with the pipe
  Fixed
  • Add a full stop at the end of the above sentence
  Fixed
  • Actual reception was mixed if you look at the reviews listed, so change to that and also add about what was criticized
  Fixed
  • "music video directed by Anders Rostad was also praised" → "music video, directed by Anders Rostad, was praised" but add info about the synopsis of the video first and I recommend splitting the reception for the music video into a different sentence
  Fixed
  • Remove the part about it not charting on the UK Singles Chart since this is not notable unless a source specifically states the fact, also it can lead to all sorts of trivial listings for artists' songs not charting if this logic is consistent
  Fixed

Background and composition

edit
  • "rumors in the media suggested that Nicole Scherzinger had" → "online rumors suggested that Scherzinger had"
  Fixed
  • "Scherzinger refuted those" → "A representative for Scherzinger refuted those"
  Fixed
  • Change January 2014 to February 2014 per the source
  Fixed
  • Remove comma before RCA Records
  Fixed
  • Remove wikilink on Big Fat Lie and the comma afterwards
Fixed, left wikilink on Big Fat Lie as its the first mention in this para.
  • Identify Nash as Terius "The-Dream" Nash
  Fixed
  • "provided all the sequencing for the song." → "provided all of the sequencing."
  Fixed
  • ""Bang" is an" → "Musically, "Bang" is an"
  Fixed
  • "song set to a" → "song, set to a"
  Fixed
  • The comp is lacking quite a bit; mention the vocals being hoarse per the Daily Mirror and can't you add more info from album reviews?
I'd love to add more but there just isn't the information available to support any further commentary. ≫ Lil-Unique1 -{ Talk }- 20:16, 28 April 2021 (UTC)Reply
  • Mixing and mastering sentence should be directly after the engineering info instead to organize the technical stuff properly
  Fixed
  • "It was mixed" → "The song was mixed" with the pipe
  Fixed
  • "in California at Contra Recordings." → "at Contra Recordings in California."
  Fixed

Release and reception

edit
  Fixed
  • Add a comma after "Run"
  Fixed
  Fixed
  • Add a comma after Daily Mirror
  Fixed
  • Czech website introduction is not needed for Musicserver.net
  Fixed
  • "going on criticize the song as" → "going on criticize the "sleazy" song as" per the source
  Fixed
  • "saying "[its] bland" → "saying "[it is] bland"
  Fixed
  • Remove the UK Singles Chart mention per my earlier comment, plus merge the third para with the second one
  Fixed
  • Remove similarly part at the start of the second sentence, though this can stay since the source directly mentions the song
  Fixed
  • "had charted on" → "had an entry on"
  Fixed

Music video

edit
  • Remove "for "Bang"" in the accompanying music video sentence
  Fixed
  • "of choreography with a" → "of choreography that involve her and a"
  Fixed
  • [13][14] order should be switched per the prose order
  Fixed
  • "when Scherzinger "appeared alongside" → "when Scherzinger appeared "alongside" per the source
  Fixed (I think)
  • "to the floor"." → "to the floor" on Stewart and The-Dream." per the source, not adding the quote to avoid using the former's full name
Comment: you've confused me with this comment tbh
  • It is sourced that there are a few flashing lights, not that these are sparse so reword accordingly
  Fixed
  • "The tone and mood of the video was" → "The mood of the video was" since this is solely what the terms seem to refer to
  Fixed
  • Remove or replace Daily Express per WP:RSP
  Fixed
  • "from Video Static also noted that the video swapped" → "from VideoStatic noted that the video abandons"
  Fixed
  • "Similarly the Daily Mirror's Fay Strang also called the video" → "Similarly, Strang called the music video"
Not fixed, this is the first mention of Strang in this paragraph
  • Remove "in the video for "Bang"" before the comma, as it is obvious the reviewer is referring to her presence in it
  Fixed
  • "she said: "the video" → "she said: "The video" per the source's capitalization
  Fixed
  • "her killer body"." → "her killer body."" per MOS:QUOTE on full sentences
  Fixed
  • "Not all reviews were positive" → "However, not all reviews were positive."
  Fixed
  • "Jaromír Koc, writing for Czech website Music Server, went as" → "Koc went as"
Not fixed, first mention in this paragraph
  • "criticizing the video as" → "criticizing the visual as"
  Fixed
  • "In Koc's opinion it" → "In Koc's opinion, the music video"
  Fixed

Credits and personnel

edit
  • Video Static → VideoStatic
  Fixed
  • Recording location → Recording
  Fixed
  • Add the mastering location under the above header
  Fixed
  • The personnel does not appear to have a specific order; it is not alphabetical nor are the roles ordered in a certain way
Comment:, its in alphabetical order according to surname?
Oh sorry, I must have not noticed that due to focusing on alphabetical order for forenames. --K. Peake 06:44, 1 May 2021 (UTC)Reply

Release history

edit
  • Release history for "Bang" → Releases dates and formats for "Bang"
  Fixed
  • Format → Format(s)
  Fixed
  • Use Ref. for the ref col
  Fixed
  • Various is not backed up by two citations that are both to the US market
This is a tricky one. It was released - as evidenced by all the coverage from the likes of Digital Spy. However, it was one of those impact date releases where it was promoted to specific date without a separate digital download listing. In the UK, the video was released a day after the song was "released" for download. A separate listing was only produced for the US because at the time, the album had not been released. Not sure what to do with this to be honest. It's been more than seven years and the quality of sources/referencing available is not great. ≫ Lil-Unique1 -{ Talk }- 22:28, 30 April 2021 (UTC)Reply

  •  Y
  • Pipe Entertainmentwise to Gigwise on ref 1
  Fixed
  • Change ref 2's date to being one year later than currently listed per the source
  Fixed
  • Shouldn't Musicserver.net be cited as publisher instead for ref 4, as you do not italicise it in prose?
Fixed by italicising in prose, websites should be italics
  • Add citations to ref 7 from countries outside of the US, plus add retailers in brackets including for current ones
Fixed was told Amazon should go in the Example text field rather than publisher anyway.
  • Remove publisher from ref 9

  • Video Static → VideoStatic on ref 14
  Fixed
  • Remove or replace ref 15 per WP:RSP

Final comments and verdict

edit
Kyle Peake still not feeling amazing so will try and address this weekend. ≫ Lil-Unique1 -{ Talk }- 22:29, 23 April 2021 (UTC)Reply
Lil-unique1 No problem, glad that you've already started to address my comments though! --K. Peake 06:24, 24 April 2021 (UTC)Reply
Kyle Peake Apologies for the extended break with this one, as per my talkpage, I've been taking it slow. I think I've addressed or left comments for all of your suggestions. ≫ Lil-Unique1 -{ Talk }- 22:30, 30 April 2021 (UTC)Reply
Lil-unique1 It is acceptable and this looks a lot better, though you should swap the order of the reception and synopsis info for the video in the lead. Furthermore, change various to the United States and only use the forenames in the music video section because those are not the first mentions of the people within the relatively short article. --K. Peake 06:44, 1 May 2021 (UTC)Reply
Kyle Peake, addressed those changes. Appreciate the patience. ≫ Lil-Unique1 -{ Talk }- 23:04, 1 May 2021 (UTC)Reply
Lil-unique1  Pass now, after I made some fixes to the music video info in the lead. You did misinterpret my comment about synopsis and reception; just know for future reference that I wouldn't have put "for the music video" directly after both if I wanted it to be ordered how you did before my c/e. --K. Peake 07:51, 2 May 2021 (UTC)Reply
