Finnish place names often have both a Finnish and a Swedish name. Both Finnish and Swedish are official languages of Finland. It is recommended that one choose the name in the language which is spoken by a majority in the municipality in question, when writing about the place in English. Pargas (Finnish Parainen) was a majority-Swedish city. It has since been merged with other municipalities to form the city of Väståboland, also with Swedish as the majority language. Hence the Swedish form of the name should be used in English. I have changed the article accordingly. David ekstrand (talk) 14:57, 27 April 2011 (UTC)Reply
