This building is new and different from the Kennebec Ice Arena; the only similarity is that it is on the same site. Who owns it is immaterial; it is a new building. There are separate articles for the Boston Garden and TD Garden even though one replaced the other and are on virtually the same site. I don't advocate a separate article for the KIA, but saying that this building was "formerly the KIA" suggests merely that the name was changed, not that the building fell down and was replaced with a new building with a new name. That's why I had made the change I did. 331dot (talk) 00:31, 28 May 2013 (UTC)Reply
I'll also note that the sources cited refer to the Ice Vault as a "new rink" or "new arena"; not merely a renaming of an existing arena. 331dot (talk) 23:15, 29 May 2013 (UTC)Reply
