editAs a British person in Indonesia, I only found today through Wikipedia that Banten seems to be known (sometimes?) as Bantam in English. I checked in Britannica (2002) which also says Bantam. But an MS Encarta map (1998 vintage) says Bantam. I lean towards Banten as the main reference, but how are these issues resolved in Wikipedia and elsewhere? Postscript: I just checked Britannica again and Bantam appears to be the old city, abandoned when its harbours silted up, near the modern city (well, relatively) of Banten. So maybe 2 entries are needed with a x-ref.? (As a newcomeer to Wiki I am still apprehesive about making changes to the articles.) RAK (talk) 02:14, 25 September 2010 (UTC)
