Why to keep the article

edit

Hello all.

I am adding this article because of the important role Barak Marshall is having in the vibrant dance scene here in Israel.

I understand the reason the delete the page is due to the information taken from this page. In which case here are two reasons why not to delete the article:

  1. The website from which the content is taken is not copyrighted (in the sense that it doesn't declare any "c" mark or such).
  2. I am in the process of contacting the author of the website to publicly declare his content as CC. Please give a few weeks to this article.

Thanks, Talgalili (talk) 09:23, 30 October 2009 (UTC)Reply

Just because it's in the internet it does not follow that you can grab and take. Please see Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. -- Alexf(talk) 10:50, 30 October 2009 (UTC)Reply
No copyright marks are required. Since 1977 March 1, 1989, any content is to be assumed under copyright unless explicitly stated otherwise. The article has been rewritten to remove the copyrighted content, which must not be re-added before permission has been received. Please understand that we will under no circumstances accept to leave copyrighted content on display on Wikipedia once we are made aware of it, and do not re-introduce the removed material.
The article is also under the threat of deletion for other reasons, most importantly, the lack of sufficient independent third party reliable sources, and such should be added as soon as possible.
If you need any help, you can create a new section on your talk page and add {{helpme}} followed by your request below it, someone will be along shortly to assist you. Alternatively, you may also leave me a message on my talk page. Best regards, MLauba (talk) 11:33, 30 October 2009 (UTC)Reply
Hello MLauba, thank you for the help in explaining :) . I just returned from a (short) honeymoon to find about what have been done with the article. In the meantime, I also recieved a reply from the author (and the subject) of the page (Barak Marshall), who'm I have asked if it is ok that I have used the text. His reply was (and I quote) "Oh my God, of course! And thank you!" (which was very sweet). Yet, since it is in my e-mail box and not online, I guess it won't help much in our case. So I asked him to add a "cc" licence on his page, and will inform (and update the article here) when that is done.
Regarding the lack of sources, that is a known problem with Israeli dance. I could probably find sources that won't be in English but in Hebrew (and then I am not sure if any of the people in this conversation will be able to review it).
In any case, Thanks again for the reply, I'll update this article more in the future. Talgalili (talk) 15:10, 1 November 2009 (UTC)Reply
