One sentence on the actual subject?
editThis article contains only one biographical sentence about the subject "Barbara Olshansky is an American human rights lawyer." and that claim isnt even backed by a citation. Bonewah (talk) 19:51, 5 March 2009 (UTC)
- I reverted a {{coatrack}} placed on this article -- the justification above is clearly incorrect. The books someone wrote, and where they work is clearly biographical material.
- Olshansky is author with Dave Lindorff of The Case for Impeachment: The Legal Argument for Removing President George W. Bush from Office.
- After leaving the Center for Constitutional Rights Olshansky was hired as director of the International Justice Network.
- In 2007 Olshanksy was appointed the Leah Kaplan Visiting Professor in Human Rights at Stanford University's Law School.
- Every single reference in the article confirms she is a human rights lawyer. I have to wonder how much effort the tag placer put into reading the article prior to their tag placement. Geo Swan (talk) 21:02, 5 March 2009 (UTC)
- If this article is a biography of Barbara Olshansky then it should contain biographical information about her such as birth, job, family, and indications of her noteworthiness. As it stands, the article contains one unsourced line about her then a whole paragraph about her book, as if the intention of the article is to discuss the book, not the author.
- If the subject of this article is truly notable, then her bio should contain links to her Pulitzer Prize or other third-party accolades she might have earned. Simply being an author is not enough to warrant inclusion in wikipedia, nor is being a human rights lawyer.
- As to the Matthew Diaz leak, its covered in detail in Diaz' own page, and is better suited for an article on gitmo detainees, rather than her. Additionally, WP:BLP1E advises "Where a person is mentioned by name in a Wikipedia article about a larger subject, but essentially remains a low-profile individual, we should generally avoid having an article on them." Finally, wp:coatrack says "In some cases where an event in a person's life is the only notable thing about them, it may make sense to only have an article on the event and not have an article on the person at all." which, in this case means that this article should either be expanded to a real biography or deleted as a coatrack.
