What is the Barbizon School? The lead sentence of this article is very poor. Much better would be, "The Barbizon School was ..." --165.189.91.148 21:03, 18 Jan 2005 (UTC)
- You're absolutely right. Feel free to edit the article. Be bold in editing. DJ Clayworth 21:08, 18 Jan 2005 (UTC)
- I would, but unfortunately this article is all I know of the Barbizon school. Apparently it's an artistic school of painting, but art is not my field. :( --165.189.91.148 21:34, 18 Jan 2005 (UTC)
- I knew even less when I wrote the original, requested, article. Sooner or later a knowledgeable editor will turn up and sort everything out. That is how Wikipedia works. ping 06:51, 19 Jan 2005 (UTC)
Naming & links
editI've just tidied up the article a little. The main change is the naming convention; I've changed it to the normal method of introducing people and places with their full names, and using surnames or shortened forms on later mentions.
The link to Fontainebleau Forest I've changed to Fontainebleau, simply because there's an article for the latter (which has a brief description of the forest) but not for the former. I'll keep my eye on it, and if a dedicated Forest-article appears I'll change the link back. Mel Etitis (Μελ Ετητης) 13:23, 4 Feb 2005 (UTC)
Question the necessity of the last paragraph
editThe last paragraph is not relevant to the topic. Nor the painter mentioned in the paragraph an important member of the school. Bachfanwang (talk) 18:43, 6 August 2008 (UTC)
Pointless link
editThe link to H. I. Marlatt links-thru to his daughter's page. There isn't one for him. Valetude (talk) 21:54, 20 March 2021 (UTC)
