St. Raymond of Peñafort
editIt would be good to mention that St. Raymond is buried in the cathedral. Caeruleancentaur (talk) 01:25, 7 January 2010 (UTC)
The Cathedral of Santa Eulalia is a featured article in the Spanish and Catalan Wikipedias
editThe corresponding articles of the Santa Eulalia in the [1] and [2] Wikipedias have attained featured article status, but the church's English Wikipedia article is only a stub-class article now. To promote this article to B-Class, GA, or FA status, we have to expand the article with text translated from the corresponding articles at either of the foreign-language Wikipedias. Which corresponding article could you choose - the Catalan version of the article or the Spanish version? I would prefer the Catalan version. Jim856796 (talk) 08:30, 22 April 2010 (UTC)
- I would recommend working from the Spanish version (slightly shorter) and there must be many Spanish to English translators who could do a good job.--Felix Folio Secundus (talk) 13:33, 23 April 2010 (UTC)
Rename ?
editFor english speakers, maybe the article should be named Cathedral of Barcelona or Barcelona Cathedral, as there is only one cathedral in Barcelona. This type of naming in quite common at cathedrals of other cities in Spain. See Category:Cathedrals in Spain. --Jordiferrer (talk) 15:13, 3 November 2011 (UTC)
- You're right, it should be Barcelona cathedral AdeMiami (talk) 18:01, 3 November 2011 (UTC)
- Cathedral also with capital letters, to have Barcelona Cathedral ?--Jordiferrer (talk) 12:03, 4 November 2011 (UTC)

Cathedral of Santa Eulàlia → Barcelona Cathedral – This move was suggested by user Jordiferrer on 3 November. I concurred, and since then no objections have been posted. The move can therefore be regarded as non-controversial. AdeMiami (talk) 18:01, 15 December 2011 (UTC)
- Support -- Barcelona Cathedral is the obvious article title, cognate with Worcester Cathedral. The dedication to Santa Eulàlia may happen to be unique for a cathedral, but that is probably a matter of chance. Peterkingiron (talk) 17:04, 16 December 2011 (UTC)

Proposed merge with Chapel of lepanto
editChapel of lepanto discusses a part of the Barcelona Cathedral. Chapel of lepanto is an article I'm not particularly fond of (It has been tagged with eleven issues, only two of which are metadata), and half of what's discussed in it is already in Barcelona Cathedral. I think it would be best to create a section in the Barcelona Cathedral about the Chapel of Lepanto and simply redirect this article to it. Compassionate727 (talk) 18:12, 11 May 2015 (UTC)
The contents of the Chapel of lepanto page were merged into Barcelona Cathedral. For the contribution history and old versions of the redirected page, please see its history; for the discussion at that location, see its talk page. |
