It says in the introduction: "high-temperature α phase and low-temperature β phase" but in the first section: "the low-temperature alpha phase converts into the beta phase upon heating to 925 °C" My understanding is that the former is correct. Is that right? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Oliford (talkcontribs) 07:46, 15 February 2012 (UTC)Reply

Corrected, thanks (something got mixed up while merging two articles). Yes, beta is low-T phase. Materialscientist (talk) 07:56, 15 February 2012 (UTC)Reply

Do you know if the α and β have the same indices and Sellmeier coefficients? We have different coefficients for α and β but the coefficients for β seem to match the behavior of some samples in our lab, which were ordered as α-BBO. The supplier insists that the indices are 'nearly' the same.

These are the coefficients I have from a few sources. n^2 = a1 + a2/(l^2 - a3^2) - a4*l^2.

Beta, from United Crystals: (These agree with our measurements, and we think we have α-BBO)

Alpha. I'm not sure of the original source for these, but they came to us via CMOD of MIT:

Can anyone shed any light on this?
