Cleanup

One or two minor issues may need lookig at, including a possible rewording for a more neutral text to avoid what is probably some unintentional POV. Help may be available from the Worcestershire project. --Kudpung (talk) 03:18, 9 June 2009 (UTC)Reply

There is now additional southbound train to Hereford. It departs at about 08:20. The sprinkler system has been replaced - it involves releasing grease onto the track by a solar powered device (I'me not sure of the detsails). — Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.141.167.239 (talk) 13:30, 29 July 2011 (UTC)Reply

Sharp curve

edit

What might the radius of the sharp curves be? Tabletop (talk) 03:08, 10 November 2013 (UTC)Reply

Opening date?

edit

When were the platforms with the sharp curved opened? Could other, later, railways have learned from the squeal problem and avoided similar sharp curves, especially in residential areas, such as Wollstonecraft railway station c1890? Tabletop (talk) 05:04, 10 November 2013 (UTC)Reply

I think that the platforms on the Redditch branch were probably opened at the same time as that line, i.e. 19 September 1859. Back then, passenger coaches were non-bogie - short wheelbase four- or six-wheelers, and flange squeal would not be such a great problem. --Redrose64 (talk) 22:01, 10 November 2013 (UTC)Reply
