Often people refer to barrels per day with the abbreviation "bbl/day". Does anyone know what this stands for?

editbbl/day stands for barrels per day.
I think it means 'blue' barrels per day- as per Standard Oil's practice of shipping petroleum products in blue plastic barrels for easy identification. This page has more info: Link
