editThere's no citations within the article, and it uses "you" in the second person on multiple occasions. There are also assumptions made about the readers (e.g., being familiar with police tape, but not industrial uses of tape). Ross 75.242.119.63 (talk) 20:00, 10 December 2012 (UTC)
Multiple Issues
editAs 75.242.119.63 commented last December, the tone of this article isn't appropriate for Wikipedia. The conversational tone and repeated use of "you" to address the reader seem to indicate that parts of it may have been copied directly from a website (perhaps belonging to a company that makes barricade tape) or promotional brochure. The reference to the non-existent OSHA standard 1920.144 (1910.144 is a real standard) supports this hypothesis, as a Google search for OSHA 1920.144 reveals that this error is remarkably common on the websites of companies selling barricade tape (it's almost as if one company made this error initially and others just blindly copied their description).
Also missing from this article is an indication of which OSHA standard actually specifies the color combinations for barricade tape (e.g., red/white for fire prevention/protection equipment, blue/white for defective machinery, etc.). Neither 1910.22 nor 1910.144 include this information (as previously mentioned, the 1920.144 standard currently referred to in the article does not appear to exist).
I may take the time to change the tone of the article, but I'm not an expert on OSHA standards; this article could certainly benefit from the attention of someone who is. Hiram J. Hackenbacker (talk) 15:47, 25 February 2013 (UTC)
