Talk:Barrios of Montevideo

The officially recognized barrios or "neighborhoods" in the wider sense?

edit

The subject of this list seems to be the subdivisions of Montevideo called "barrios". I have removed the following text: "and others by the construction of complete, large-scale residential neighborhoods, such as Euskal Erría in Malvín Norte and Parque Posadas in the Prado". Euskal Erria, Parque Posadas, Reus al Norte, can be considered neighborhoods is the wider definition of the term, but I have never seen them as subdivisions of Montevideo. British vs American spelling

edit

Excepting few American institutions, all bilingual schools and extracuricular English classes teach British English. Also Uruguay has mainly cultural British connections, not American. This article was moved from "neighbourhoods" to "neighborhoods" in 2007 with the reason "American English for American topics" [1]. This would be true for all North American topics, but it is not true in this case. I propose to move it back to the British spelling. The article Montevideo follows this rule and the Wikipedia:WikiProject Uruguay suggests the use of British English for Uruguayan topics. Hoverfish Talk 11:31, 10 December 2010 (UTC)Reply
