#11, Stilwell & Esasky

edit

Wasn't it Kurt Stilwell (later of the KC Royals) and not Nick Esasky (usually played at 1B) that competed with Larkin for the Reds' SS position? I seem to recall that they also competed for the #11 jersey. The rivalry was rendered moot When Stilwell was traded to the Royals and the jersey became Larkin's for good. Stilwell presented Larkin with a #11 pendant on a gold chain in a gesture of sportsmanship and comraderie.

You are correct, Esasky never played SS for any major league team

Controversy

I want my account to be added to Mr Larkin page. What has to be done. This is actual facts and nothing is made up. Arom1221 (talk) 04:08, 22 August 2011 (UTC)Reply

What sources are available to verify the claims? If this event is significant enough to warrant coverage in the article, I'd expect there to be several sources available. —C.Fred (talk) 04:11, 22 August 2011 (UTC)Reply
